My Thailand Escapade II
One of the main highlights of the trip was food. Actually, I think I spent more on eating than shopping.
Well, I guess I live to eat. Most of the time anyway.
So what did we have?
Our very first meal was teppanyaki. Then as the trip went on, just to name a few stuff we ate, we had
Bird's nest!!!!!
Thai food
Er...steamboat cum BBQ
and something I've wanted to try for a very long time already...
Insects!!
Looks like mealworms?? Don't really know what it is
Grasshoppers!
So anyway, 3 things went throught my mind the first time i ate those worms
1) It is soft?!?
2) So. Salty.
(After chewing it up, and swallowing it.)
3) Okay, I now have worm bits stuck in my teeth.
Most of the insects doesn't actually taste bad. But its the thought of eating them that turns me off. And because of that, I could only bring myself to eat that one grasshopper. (I have a phobia of squishing them, but i could bring myself to chew them. HMMMMMMM.....)
We also took several different forms of transport to get around places in Bangkok, and most of them were relatively cheap. Especially the taxis. If Singapore taxis cost like they cost in Bangkok, taxis may probably be the number one way of travelling for me here. Hah!
View from the boat as we travelled along the river (Arguably the fastest way to get around Bangkok)
Me on the tuk tuk. (More expensive than taking taxis. But I actually enjoyed sitting on one. The engine of the tuk tuk sounds damn fierce.)
Me and Zk on their "MRT"
Other forms of transport around Bangkok include their skytrain, the motorcycle taxis and buses.
Anyway, 5 days in Bangkok passed rather quickly, and I soon myself back on the plane bound for Singapore. Wasn't quite a bad trip, but found myself quite exhausted from it at the end...
Hmm, here's wondering where and when my next holiday destination will be???
Currently,
-have started my attachment, and is feeling tired
-listening to Johann Pachelbel - Canon in D
