UK Fun Fair
Went with Kok Leng earlier in the evening to the UK fun fair across the road from my flat. We had recieved a leaflet earlier in our post, and there were coupons for a free goodie bag, ice cream, balloons, and most importantly, 4 tokens which indicated that it could be exchanged for free rides. Or at least, that's how we interpreted it.
Okay, so maybe things don't come so cheap, we thought. Maybe its not one free ride per token. The ferris wheel needed 3 tokens, so maybe we had to exchange 3 free tokens for it. But no. In fact, here's how it works. For example, the ferris wheel needed 3 token (1 token costs $2.50) However, we could only use a free token to exchange for one token. That is, we still needed to pay another $5 for the ride on the wheel. Seeing that ALL the rides needed at least 2 tokens, that means we weren't going to be getting onto any rides for free.
What the...In the end, we didn't try any of the rides.
It was also a sort of "special occassion" today at the fun fair, as some MP was invited down as well. So there's the free gooodie bags and ice cream. The goodie bag had a handbook on prevention of Aides mosquitoes *roll eyes*. They gave us those cap thingies to cover up the er..thingies that u use to hang your bamboo from (My vocabulary be damned!). There's also this display at the fun fair on how to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes. *Roll eyes again*
And to conclude the night, there was a lucky draw. And it's needless to say. Me and Kok walked home empty handed.
Wonder what's the view like from the top of the wheel? It was spinning quite fast though. Going to be difficult to take a picture up there anyway...Handphone camera shuttle speed too slow! Or it's spinning too fast.
The difference between the night and day. Love the colours of the rides.
The front of my house faces the fair, so we are directly exposed to the noise. Then the vibration and the bass of the music reverberates of the flat behind my house, so we have surround-fun-fair-sound. Then you can hear the whoosh whoosh sounds of some of the rides.
Remembered the first time I went to this UK fun fair was with my mum and aunt, back when I was still very small. Remembered I couldn't sleep that night after sitting some of the rides. But its not like I abstain from all the rides. Been on a fair share of rides at Disneyland and the theme parks in Australia, and they were alot worse than these here. Its just that I am very picky about what I sit on. Hah.
