Speed Racer
Just watched it.
I don't understand why most reviews said it was boring. I actually found it kind of entertaining. Perhaps because I didn't really watch the whole movie in one sitting...
Okay, so perhaps the story is your usual cliche stuff, but I thought most people should have known this is a movie to just throw your brain off somewhere and just enjoy the spectacular eye candy. Final Fantasy: Advent Children didn't make any sense at all, but everyone enjoyed it for the gravity defying leaps and spectacular actions scenes.
I enjoyed Speed Racer for its technicolour cheesiness. The Wachowski brothers are in my opinion, visionaries more than directors. Speed Racer is like bubblegum pop to me. I know it isn't anything too deep, but I can't help but be affixed by it.
Also, I realise I have a very low tolerance level for people who tend to be inept. I know this sounds really arrogant of me, but ARGH! It is sometimes so exasperating.
Finally, I managed to use the word technicolour! I've always wanted to use that in my sentence after hearing Anthony Bourdain using it to describe food. Haha! Gosh, I am so weird.
